Jeremiah Nyman's headshot Hi! My name is Jeremiah Nyman and I am a User Experience designer working out of Wichita, Kansas.

I focus on the research and communication side of UX, with knowledge of front-end web design and graphic design. I have helped design this websites for small-scale websites, including the iterative design of this one!

Tell me about your education

I attended Wichita State University and got a BA in Psychology, focusing in Human Factors and Cognitive Psychology. What does that even mean? Human Factors deals with how people interact with technology and how it changes their behavior and thinking. Cognitive psychology is the understanding of how people think and why they behave as they do.

I worked in a Human Factors research lab for nearly two years doing a multitude of tasks, ranging from experimental design to usability testing. If you would like to read more about some of the projects I worked on during college, click on the “Research” tab and select your favorite topic.

Name one thing that has shaped your experiences on life

I’ve always been a huge fan of video games for most of my life. They’ve shaped my experiences and helped me become a better thinker and an objective goal planner. I followed my passions and they brought me to a deep understanding human psychology and affection for research.

You were a professional gamer?

Yes, I was the analyst for compLexity gaming League of Legends. I worked with two teams, and helped one team reach the pinnacle of success: playing in the League Championship Series (LCS). It was an amazing experience and I was happy to be able to work with some of the best talent in North America and a wonderful organization.

Why do you do what you do

What energizes me is the ability to help people communicate thoughts and ideas so that can better understand each other. Another motivation is for me to expand my experiences, to always be learning in every situation, to never stop growing in knowledge.

How do you solve problems?

My favorite method for solving problems is to start off with goal-planning, and then create the steps necessary to reach the goal. I also enjoy considering some of the more creative methods to solving problems.
